What is Glutathione?

Glutathione also is known as GSH, is a small tripeptide molecule composed of three amino acids – Glutamic Acid, Glycine, and Cysteine. All three amino acids must be present for the cell to produce GSH. Cysteine is the most difficult for humans to acquire and requires the presence of other amino acids to be effective.*

Intracellular glutathione levels appear to be an indicator of the cell’s general health and ability to resist and defend against toxins.*

The largest concentration is in the liver.

This master antioxidant is used by your body to continuously defend against five major threats:

  • Free radical damage.
  • Infection
  • Radiation damage
  • Damage from cellular detoxification
  • Environmental exposure

Benefits of Glutathione

GSH is found in every cell in the body and is also available as a supplement. Studies have shown that GSH is a crucial, naturally-occurring antioxidant in the body. Eating a healthy diet, high in fresh fruits and vegetables, can help to increase your levels of glutathione along with taking Triotein to give your body the three essential amino acids it needs to create glutathione, However, eating a poor diet, your levels may be low and extra supplementation may be needed.

Intracellular Antioxidant

While vitamins C and E are the most well-known antioxidant supplements, because they neutralize free radicals, it has the added benefit of being a powerful antioxidant because it exists within all cells. It is found in every type of cell, including cells in the immune system and supports a healthy immune system and body functions.*
